The A720IS seems to generate a lot of debate about its quality. If you really are considering the purchase of a Canon PowerShot A720IS digital camera, you need to consider both sides of the debate. With a plethora of digital camera vendors clog the network, it is difficult to have someone tell you how big the A720IS has been found. What you need is someone to point out the problems there. I am more than happy to oblige.
The A720IS can not treat children, or other fast moving Objects without manual intervention. Most of the time, you'll just end up with blurred images. The car offers all the settings PowerShot this, nobody seems to have a shutter speed. There is no way of "sport" mode and also the "children" is slower than expected closure time. Of course, you can select Manual, then you must do all the settings manually, not only the exposure time. This type of behavior defeats the whole purpose of being easy to use, point and shoot> Camera.
To compound the original problem is a slow flash recycle time. Then, after you made your first film out of focus, you can expect to wait several seconds for the office lightning. To test the second time for a quick picture, and to compensate for the confused one. The Canon A720IS (and some other fees) used only two double-A batteries. Canon and others seem to have a tendency to overload the camera with large LCD screens and flash power sucking, and then the cheapbattery in the unit. Even professional photographers who want pictures rarely pull the trigger first.
If you need a little encouragement to think 'more than other cameras, so here is a brief summary of the other problems PowerShot A720IS:
- ISO settings above 400 produce very noisy images
- The image stabilization produces questionable benefits
- The wireless transfer of files missing
- Offer Windows software has fewer features than previous versions
