Sony rocked the boat with their new alpha A55, an interchangeable lens camera with a translucent pellicle mirror. In laymen's terms, that means it can autofocus and shoot at the same time, which means it's really, really fast, and even smaller than a standard dSLR. Sony's dSLRs have always been solid shooters, but reactions to their new cameras generally range from "ho-hum" to "mildly intriguing.
