Canon Power Shot Digital Camera Rating

People who are not really into photography but would like to capture the best shots can use point and shoot digital cameras. These are smaller cameras that you can put in your shoulder bag and bring it wherever you will go.







According to digital camera ratings made, one of the best point and shoot digital cameras is the Canon PowerShot A640 unit. It has a compact unit with 4.31 in width, 1.93 in depth, 2.6 in height and weighs 0.54 lb only. It has CCD image sensor type with a resolution of 10.4 megapixel. It also has a 4x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom, which is important in capturing images from afar.

Aside from taking pictures, you can also use this camera to record videos. The videos which can be saved are very limited. The video resolutions range is as follows: (320 by 240 (QVGA), 640 by 480 (VGA) and 160 x 1. The video speed is 30 fps and with a maximum length of 60 minutes only. The video works on AVI format. Videos and images can be saved in a SD card, the type of memory card compatible with A640. There are several compression modes that you can use when saving files in the form of JPEG, EXIF 2.2 and DPOF 1. A 128MB memory card can contain 49 images when saved in a high resolution format but it can save up to 1,600 images when saving using low resolutions.







The Canon A640 unit comes with a built in flash type. It can be used as auto flash, with red-eye reduction flash, slow sync and forced functions. The viewfinder is from the optical 2.5” LCD screen with a screen resolution of 115,000 pixel. The interface of the unit is through USB 2.0 while the video interface is video out. It requires 4 AA lithium batteries to power the unit. It can take up to 500 images.







Even if you research and compare digital cameras that have the same type as the Canon A640, you will find that this unit is worth the price that you pay for it.
