Canon S95 10 meg pix power shot Great camera with a lens of 18-55mm f/3.5 to 5.6 This camera has digital quality to 10 meg pix good for enlargement to about 8x10. You need a higher resolution to go to a larger format than that. You've got a 3 inch screen in back this is a great all round camera easy to use. Even my mom at 70 was snapping away after just a few instructions. It does not have the video movie quality I expected. So consider your use. The Video quality is good for occasional school play or game. If you are creating a video archive Consider an other video camera.

Canon EOS rebel T2i 18 meg pix Close to professional. Great still camera with close to professional quality but don't buy this to replace your camcorder because, the microphone pick up, will record the lens motor. For that I suggest JVC GZ-HM550 movie camera 32 gig bytes. See my other article on this movie camera. This is a solid DSLR camera with very close to professional quality to get there just add lenses.

Canon Flip Ultra HD digital movie camera. This is an awesome, simple camera to use point shoot and share the video High quality. You get 8 gig bits for about 120 minutes of shooting.. but it is not high-definition. Still simple camera to use run play shoot. Great for your teen.

Canon Rebel XS 10 meg pix near professional but less price. There are thousands of these cameras out there. Testimony to the rugged easy to use features of this, Great all round camera. Have you ever heard the term dirt testing your camera, That's real world throw it in the bag and run. Awesome Camera dependable, good quality pictures. 7 point focusing system has its challenge in low light. But so do most cameras I Love my Rebel XS. Battery life is great nothing less than what I expected.

Fugifilm Finepix J20 10 meg pix. For $80 bucks you can't beat the quality 10 meg pix resolution and 3x optical zoom. The rear screen is 2.7 inch just under some models. It comes with 20 meg of built-in memory no memory cards are included so that even's up the price. Note the video mode is accessed by menu, no featured button on top. I note that it has no stabilization and that affected my images, some seem fuzzy. The shutter button has a 2-3 second lag that has caused me to miss the shot I wanted.

Panasonic Lumix Fh20 14 meg pix purse size camera with great resolution. Good outdoor camera. I was disappointed at the indoor images the flash seem to tint toward red. Good at the close outdoor ranges to 100 feet but for large landscapes I felt the camera would not focus as i zoomed out 8x left me disappointed. Picture quality is great. But I was expecting a camera that would store easily it does and take fair pictures indoors and great pictures outdoors. I was left wanting.

Fujifilm Finepix XP10 water proof good to 10 feet deep great for playing in the pool. Great camera for the beach and the water-park. This camera allows pictures that I would have missed. It is not the greatest quality but it was adequate we had great fun and captured that to digital form most of which I would have missed without this camera. This should be an extra camera for the summer. You need a regular camera for the rest of the shots. Note: invest in the extra battery. Battery life is disappointingly short.

I wrote about my use. What I like and dislike about each camera Ultimately you must choose knowing how you will use the camera and how it fits your budget. My hope is I have saved you hours of pouring over reviews. Thank you.
