INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q9550 Review

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 is marginally better performer than the AMD’s most powerful quad-core processor, the Phenom X4 955. Since both Core 2 Quad Q9550 and Phenom II X4 955 are priced almost the same, the Q9550 is any day a better choice. Only advantage in Phenom II X4 955 is that, it features an unlocked multiplier which makes over clocking a breeze. However, the Q9550 can be over clocked much higher i.e more than 1 GHz by increasing the FSB.
Clocked at 2.83 Ghz, the Q9550 is the second most powerful after the Q9650 in the Core 2 Quad family. Just like the other quad-core processors from the Core 2 family, it features two dual-core dies with 6 MB L2 cache each and supports Intel Virtualization technology. It is like two Core 2 Duo E8300 CPUs fused together in a single package.
The Q9550 has a good amount of oomph to handle demanding tasks, but it is too way too powerful for a gaming machine.
Pros: Great Performance, over clocks well.
Cons: Price.

Nikon D5000 Review

Here’s a review of the new Nikon D5000 from Richard Butler of DPreview. I personally prefer the D90 or D300 over this one, but you cannot argue with value, and this cameras has it, without compromises.

The Nikon D5000 aims to be a lot of things to a lot of people - stepping in above the D60 as an offering designed to attract upgraders from older entry-level DSLRs, as well as lending a welcoming hand-up to DSLR ownership for compact camera users looking to get more involved in their hobby. The features and technologies passed down from the D90 make it a very capable camera but the difference in feature set - low-res LCD, smaller viewfinder, single control dial, fewer direct-access buttons, smaller battery and more limited lens compatibility - should mean it doesn't tread on its big-brother's toes too much.
Nikon D5000 DSLR
"Overall performance is quite good and the camera always feels snappy and responsive. Processor power and buffering have, compared to the Nikon D60 which itself wasn't a slouch, been further improved making the D5000, especially in the continuous shooting department, one of the fastest cameras in the 'entry level' segment. Even in raw mode the Nikon D5000 rarely gets in the way of the action."
Nikon D5000 Features:
  • 12.9 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor (effective pixels: 12.3 million)
  • 2.7" tilt and swivel LCD monitor (230,000 dots)
  • Movie capture at up to 1280 x 720 (720p) 24 fps with mono sound
  • Live View with contrast-detect AF, face detection and subject tracking
  • Image sensor cleaning (sensor shake)
  • 11 AF points (with 3D tracking)
  • IS0 200-3200 range (100-6400 expanded)
  • 4 frames per second continuous shooting (buffer: 7 RAW, 25 JPEG fine, 100 JPEG Normal)
  • Expeed image processing engine
  • Extensive in-camera retouching including raw development and straightening
  • Connector for optional GPS unit (fits on hot shoe)
  • New battery with increased capacity
  • 72 thumbnail and calendar view in playback

INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q8200 Review

The Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 is the most powerful processor for the price range below ten thousand. As this processor belongs to the 8xxx series, this entry level quad core processor is clocked at 2.33 Ghz and has a total of 4 MB l2 cache. Under its hood lie two dual core dies with 2 MB cache. Even though this is a entry level processor, its feature set doesnt include Intel's Virtualizastion technology which is present in Core 2 Duo E8xxx & E9xxx series onwards.
The sheer power of the Q8200 is quite evident by its respectible scores in CineBench R10 and video encoding. Its closest competitor in the roundup was the Phenom X4 9950 Black edition, which is on the verge of extinction. It is priced at 9500 Indian Rupees and it doesn't make any sense picking it up with the Core 2 Quad Q8200.

Pros: Core 2 Quad Q8200: Good value for money, excellent score for an entry level quad core.
Cons: No Intel Virtualization Technology.

Canon EOS IDs Mark III Review

The Canon EOS IDs Mark III is the top of the line in the canon EOS DSLR range of cameras. The 21.1 MP CMOS sensor should satisfy even the most demanding enthusiast. While the camera lacks features such as HD video recording that much cheaper Canon cameras have, it more than makes up by addressing some of the most irritating faults inherent to digital photography. The tone priority setting makes sure that the minut tones in an image are preserved despite harsh lighting conditions. The DIGIC III image processor can churn out images at higher rates, and the autoficus system uses 19 primary and 26 secondary autofocus points. This is available in the price range of around 400141 Rs or $8000.

Dell Ultrasharp 2209WA Review

The Dell 2209WA is the latest entrant to Dell's Ultrasharp premium panels range. This one is, however, unique because of the fact that it is the first monitor to be built with an "eIPS" panel. eIPS is basically a cut-down of the more expensive IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel.

Pros:
1. Great picture quality – Rich colors and dark blacks
2. Very good viewing angles.
3. Superb design.
4. Acceptable input lag and fast response time.
4. Four USB ports
5. 3 Years warranty & legendary Dell service.

Cons:

1. Price is little more compared to same configuration other models.
2. No HDMI input
3. The maximum resolution is only 1680x1050 unlike some of the others that go up to 1920x1080.
4.The average brightness is 188 lumens.
